Fur farming has been hitting the headlines considerably, but the fur industry has continued its rise in spite of the scandals.
This startling Norwegian documentary takes a new approach on the topic. Psychologist Frank Nervik pretends to be a fur farmer and secretly films the operations. The procedures of the farmers are shocking. Infiltrated in the industry, Nervik also gets a glimpse on China’s fur trade in Beijing, where he travels with Finnish fur farmers to a trade fair. One of the biggest exporters there is the Finnish Saga Furs.
Director Ola Waagen’s breakthrough film raises a question: Does fur farming have a future?
